Industry Services

LEAN Consulting Services

The Industry Factory offers extensive, hands-on production systems consulting services to support manufacturers in optimising their production, from single machine/operator optimisation to whole supply chain optimisation.

We encourage the ‘owners’ of the area of focus to be a part of the optimisation process so they can begin to learn LEAN Production through the lens of their work area.

Some of our clients have realised $250,000 per annum in savings through just one simple optimisation project costing $30,000 to implement. This particular improvement was always there to take advantage of, however, the team couldn’t see it until it was viewed through a LEAN lens.

This service is for those who just need a bit of support to realise the opportunities within their production line that are wasting time, money and effort.

‘Kaizen’ Project Office (KPO)

Kaizen is a Japanese word for small, incremental improvements and is used extensively within the language of LEAN Production.

The Industry Factory’s KPO is designed and built to be a centralised point of coordination and management for continuous improvement projects.

It is implemented to quickly deliver structure, oversight and visibility of continuous improvement activities across the organisation. This can include a degree of governance, standardisation and funding approvals for the projects to fast-track both the approval process and implementation, as well as monitoring and measuring the quality of the outcomes and the savings in real dollar terms.

It can also be set up as the foundational element of the LEAN program that can be developed into a LEAN Centre of Excellence for the medium- to long-term LEAN journey. This tool can effectively manage projects and facilitate the ongoing development of necessary LEAN Leadership skills across all levels of the organisation.

The Industry Factory's KPO is created to focus on the organisation’s ability to deliver on customer and stakeholder promises in a layered and systemic way. It is a blended model of small amounts of learning about the theory of LEAN combined with capability development through actual doing.

The LEAN Assessment Training

LEAN Assessor Module 1: An introductory one-day program that walks participants through how to apply the LEAN Assessment tool to their area of responsibility and start looking at other areas of their business through a ‘LEAN ’ lens. This module is the first step in the LEAN Leader journey toward improving the organisation’s leadership ‘bench strength’ and a prerequisite for acceptance into the LEAN Leader program.

LEAN Assessor Module 2: An advanced one-day program for those who have completed LEAN Assessor Module 1. The program includes in-depth metrics and analysis, as well as the planning, execution and evaluation of complex 'Kaizen' events and improvement projects. This course is designed for individuals looking to deep dive into data analysis and reporting.

LEAN Assessor Module 3: Specialist training for those interested in delivering LEAN Assessments as a core part of their role or wishing to move into Assessment as a part- or full-time activity.
